This page explains how to download the self extracting archive file for the Instacal ver 5.32 hardware drivers used by Datapac 2000, Ver 2.41 and Datapac 2K2 Ver 3.08 and later. It is necessary to perform this download only if you are using or you intend to use these versions of DATAPAC to acquire data using an A-D device manufactured by Measurement Computing Corp. (formerly named ComputerBoards Inc.) AND you do not have Instacal ver 5.32 already installed. If you do not intend to acquire data with these versions of DATAPAC, or if Instacal 5.32 is already installed, you do not need to perform the procedures described on this page.

Instacal ver 5.32 is provided in the form of one single self-extracting archive file, Ical5_32.exe.

1. Download the archive file to an empty folder (directory) on your hard disk.
2. Execute the file to extract its contents. For example, select Start|Run, enter the drive, directory, and filename (e.g., c:\temp\Ical5_32.exe), then select OK. You can also use Windows Explorer to execute the files if you prefer.
3. As the file executes you are asked to specify the Unzip to Folder. This is the folder (directory) where the contents of the archive will be placed as they are extracted. The default selection is a subfolder named "Instacal 5_32 Install Files" under the folder where the archive file is currently stored. You are now ready to install Instacal 5.32.

If you are replacing a previous version of Instacal you must perform the following procedures. If you are replacing an Instacal version earlier than version 5.04, or if you feel you need more assistance, click here to obtain detailed installation instructions.

1. Examine your A-D device configuration settings within your existing version of Instacal and record them.
2. Uninstall your existing version of Instacal using Control Panel|Add/Remove Programs.

1. Make sure your A-D device(s) is/are removed from your computer.
2. Run Setup.exe from the Instacal 5_32 Install Files folder to begin installation.
3. As installation proceeds, always select the default option for each and every choice presented to you unless you have a compelling reason not to.
4. After installation, shut down your computer, re-install your A-D device, then power up again.
